Callaway RAZR Hawk Driver Golf’s First Uncompromised Driver
We doubt you’ll ever see an official, Lamborghini-branded driver, but the Callaway RAZR Hawk Driver (wholesale price $247) comes pretty damn close. At the heart of the RAZR is its Forged Composite construction — a new material co-developed by Callaway and Lamborghini — that makes it lighter and stronger than titanium while maintaining a high moment of inertia, and is helped along by hyperbolic face technology, an aerodynamic head shape, a weighting system to help tame your hook or slice, and an Aldila RIP Graphite Shaft that’s perfectly paired to the clubhead.

Forged Composite is the result of a unique partnership between the R&D teams of Callaway and supercar maker Lamborghini; this revolutionary new material is one-third the density of titanium, yet features a greater load carrying capacity per unit mass in bending. Forged Composite is lighter, stronger than titanium. The sole and crown of the Callaway RAZR Hawk Driver contains more than 23 million turbostratic carbon fibers that reinforce 67% of the clubhead. A chemical milling process in the Callaway RAZR Hawk Driver selectively removes excess material for precision thickness control across the face to produce consistently high ball speeds for long distance.
The Callaway RAZR Hawk Driver has streamlined surface contours to reduce energy loss from drag during the downswing by 43% compared to the Callaway FT-9 Driver. This creates higher impact speeds for added distance.

PING i15 Golf Driver Buyers Guide
According to PING, the fade-biased design of the PING i15 460cc Golf Driver meets the needs of golfers who place a high priority on working their tee shots, but we were not impressed with how this looks and sits at the address position.
You feel as though you are going to hit every golf drive out of the neck of the golf driver and squirt everything right off the tee.
PING state the traditional pear-shaped 460cc titanium head is engineered with a bulge crown design and deeper face to optimize energy transfer for greater ball speed and the solid feel preferred by better golfers. This undermines the fact that a better standard of golfer should be able to make a fade and should not require a golf driver that does this for him/ her.
PING also state that Internal weighting reduces spin and the hosel is positioned slightly back from the face to help promote tour-preferred trajectories and control.
This golf driver looks very similar to the PING Rapture V2 in size but not in style. It reminds us of the Mizuno MP-600 Golf Driver, which looks and sits far better in our opinion than the PING i15 Golf Driver.
GOLF GRIP
The golf grip supplied with this golf driver is a thin cord grip which looks cheap and feels uncomfortable. This is a very poor quality grip for a golf driver of this price tag.
ADJUSTABLE
Hosel is adjustable plus/minus 1.5° to further customize the driver.
LOFTS
Three lofts: 8°, 9.5°, 11°
GOLF SHAFTS
Available in PING designed TFC700D (R, S and X flexes) and UST AXIVcore Tour Red 69 (R, S and X flexes) which are good graphite golf shafts. The golf driver we took for a test drive was supplied with Proforce AXIVcore Regular R Series 69 which is not suitable for good golfers or anyone with above average golf swing speed.
SUMMARY
We are very disappointed with the
PING i15 Golf Driver
which in our opinion does not live up to the pre-release hype. In our humble opinion, there are far better golf drivers on the marketplace at this price range. We would be interested to hear what you think of this golf driver.

The Driver Golf Swing – Why Is It Different From All Other Clubs?
In theory, the driver is the largest club in the golf bag, with the largest head, and the longest shaft. It would make sense, then, that it should be the easiest club to hit a golf ball with because it has the largest surface for striking the ball. However, more amateur golfers struggle to hit a golf ball straight and long with the driver than any other clubs. This is because there are differences in the driver golf swing and the swing you use with the rest of your clubs.
First, when you swing the driver your ball is teed up and usually higher than you would tee up any other clubs you would hit off a tee. This means that you have to swing differently to hit the ball correctly. You will actually hit the golf ball as the club is ascending through the ball with the driver, where as, you want a descending blow with your irons and shorter clubs.
Second, the driver golf swing is a longer swing and a much faster swing than any other club in the bag. This is because you are trying to hit the ball further, the club is longer, and it does have a larger hitting surface. This means that you have more of a chance of losing control of this swing than the swing you would make with your irons.
Last, the proper way to set up to a shot with your driver is very different because you are actually going to set up with more secondary spine angle(further behind the ball with the angle of your spine tilting away from the ball) than you will with any other club in the golf bag. This is what allows you to keep your weight back long enough to get through impact and launch the golf ball further down the fairway.
